Choose a Suitable Helmet Visor for Riding Comfort
- on October 13, 2021
When you are riding your motorcycle, you have to face quite extreme weather conditions. And for the sake of a clear vision, you need to invest in a good-quality helmet visor. If you are planning to buy a visor, you have got a whole variety to choose from.
Whether it is windy, snowing, raining, or shining, there is always a visor for every situation.
A fundamental element for your helmet, the visor ensures complete comfort and visibility.
- Safety features
Whether you go for a smoked or clear visor, it will adapt to your needs and weather conditions. Visors protect riders from rain, dust, pollution, wind and even during a fall. During winters, anti-fog visors are quite helpful. Along with facilitating a clear view, these visors prevent fogging, allowing a better riding experience. So, you can be safe and avoid accidents that usually happen in fog due to low visibility.
- An Easy Upgrade
Available in many variants, a visor completes the look of your helmet and upgrades it. So, if you are bored with your helmet, you can upgrade it by simply replacing its visor. No need to spend extra bucks on a new helmet!
Also, regular wear and tear may cause scratches or cracks on the helmet visor. It is not feasible to change your helmet every time you damage the visor, especially when you have a high-end helmet like MT helmets. However, it is also not wise to ride with a damaged visor, as it blurs the vision. So, just replace the visor and make your helmet brand new again!
Types of Helmet Visors
- Transparent or Clear visor: This is the most common visor found in all kinds of protective helmets. The visor doesn't have a shade or tint. So, you can wear sunglasses to shield your eyes from daylight. These types of visors are suitable for riders who like to ride at night as the transparency allows better vision at night.
- Smoked Visor: Smoked visors are the best for riders who love to ride during the daytime. They come with a tinted layer over the surface to prevent direct sunlight from hitting your eyes. With smoked visors, you don’t have to wear sunglasses for extra protection. Such visors are available in different variants like translucent, black and white, or coloured smoked visors. Please note that these visors are not suitable for night time riding.
- Iridium Visor: Iridium visors are quite attractive to look and are reflective. The mirror finish allows maximum reflection of light during hot summer days. They are fancy version and are highly recommended to be used only during the daytime riding.
- Yellow Tint Visor: These visors are a boon during hot summer days. These allow better visibility during the day but are not recommended for night riding.
